So, y’all wanna get scared? I regularly talk to people who play videos games who fail to understand this concept 😂 I didn’t see this till AFTER social media became as popular as it is today 😅
oh my god really??? Like grown people who don't understand this? that's terrifying
Still, there is no way to know back then we had such certainty on this as a fact. That is just an assumption of patterns and the fulfillment of professional psychologists to believe they discovered something. Until now we have AI and computers that can track eye movement over and over to confirm that as 100%, and even like that we do not know what is going through the baby's mind or subconscious.
WHAT THE HELL IS GOIN ON
I remember when i was toddler, my parents often leave me alone at home, and lock the door for hours. Maybe for work or college. I didn't cry or care at all and just enjoy playing my toys. And when i grow up i dislike when people rely on me when its their responsibility and they still can do it, and not just because lazy 🤨
7:52 Plot twist: That kind acutally saw through everything from the start and fooled the lady all along :D
the baby did not cry when mom left he asked wheres mom? once but was hard to sooth with the stranger when she offered comfort to the baby but as mom came back her son immediately began to still re engage and was not crying when mom entered the room which this kind of message was quite mixed
How does a video of Pinker explaining a Wug test that so beautifully shows Chomsky's ground-breaking concept of the language development & the brain have only a few 1000 views!
We can’t be there every waking moment it’s scary to think cause I have to go to work my child will develop an attachment disorder.
THE CLOSED CAPTIONS ARE VULGAR. THIS NEEDS TO BE REMOVED/FIXED.
OMG, YOURE CORRECT!! in the second part… yikes!
.
a alguien mas le sale mas traducido al español?
2:51 the sad truth of a child longing for an unavailable person to seek distant comfort
It's so odd as a developed individual to see these children not make these connections. It's like they have two separate brains that can't communicate with each other. I wonder if this is similar to adults whose corpus callosum is severed.
حتى الأم كانت مندهشة 😂 بلأخير لما بين انه دمية واحدة.
Nah.. watch out for that Elizabeth! She tries to gaslight him 🤨
Hello Peter, what's happening? I'm gonna need you to go ahead and come in tomorrow. So if you could be here around 9, that would be great. mmm kay?
I'm sorry, but that boat is not blue. It's very much black.
This is very reminiscent of Stroop tests, could this be a modified Stroop test? I'm referring to the boats and rabbits :)
Is this narrated by Andrew Robinson?
I don't know the mother comes across as cold to me 🤷
But the stranger is worse ! Like I would be mad if that’s all they did/said to comfort my child lol
This is secure and not Ambivalent?
Sınıf öğretmenliğine selamlar
This just shows that a child is incapable of showing evil tendencies
Not sure why they want to frame a kid's mindset as "spooky" or "starting" . A 3 year old's mindset is neither. It simply is what it is. What is spooky and startling however is that producers of shows think they need to frame everything in weird emotional terms. Do adults need that to pay attention to something?
it took me until the eighth grade before I learned--consciously--that people wouldn't know I lied if I lied. Major game changer in my life
Same here. My teachers at Harvard are the best!
Foolish. Why don't you bring another person who will play monkey rather than the same person asking for liking and disliking.
If i had known such a job existed, i would have joined it. I love dealing with babies 😂😂
9:22 PATRICK HAD HIS FINGERS CROSSED
3? He looks 5.
He had a tough life
The child has no reaction to the mother leaving the room and coming back. That to me is very unusual, especially at that age. It shows a a deep disconnection.
"the 3 year old mind doesnt know what it knows" This is the explanation? Seriously??
At 4:00 he says "Where will Sally look for the marble?" She takes the marble out of the box and says, "There you go, Sally!" Technically, she didn't answer the question or demonstrate that she even understood the question. She just understood that Sally wanted the marble and so she gave it to her. At 2:02 "Can you remember what's inside the box?" Pencils. "What did you think was in the box?" Pencils. Again, I think this is a matter of understanding what question is being asked. The question should at least be asked in a more clear manner, such as "Just a moment ago, when I asked you what was inside the box, what was your answer?" If you just say "What did you think", in her mind it's not clear what precise moment you're referring to.
at that age they can understand simple questions like what did you think was in the box.
They can understand the questions by then, she answered what she thought. He specifically asked her what she thought was in the box before and she said pencils
About the smarties - he did ask her about another person coming in, and she confirmed a person that wasn't there would also believe there are pencils in the box :) that was another confirmation to her actual understanding, as you are correct and the questions were not always clear enough
"Just a moment ago" isn't clear either. It could refer to when she thought there was Smarties in the box AND when she found out there were pencils. Sad that multiple people in the comments are not even getting your point
I too would cry if I failed an A not B test.
This study works only in the western countries. In other cultures, the child learns from an early age to form attachment with multiple people and children spend most of their day with someone else other than their mother and when they start walking they spend most of their day outside playing with other children. They have less fear of strangers especially when they reach the age of this toddler. They have outgrew stranger’s anxiety. This study had different results in different cultures especially in Japan.
Yeah sounds like justifying. If u haven’t seen yr best friend for 5 yrs , when meet up again 😅 it’s like feel like just saw them yesterday. Ppl with cozy mom , the kids can play outside all day but if mom show up , d kid Will 😅rush to mom. If I’m Japan or anywhere mom is bossy n snappy . D mom leave room , d kid is not bothered . 😮 lol 😅 if mom comes back , d child avoids mom . Cuz mom is stranger 😊
Is Alan Alda the narrator?
Conclusion: three year olds think like Trump supporters, four year olds are smarter than that.
Is the voiceover Alan Alda?
mean monkey is a real piece of shit
I love how he keeps tapping the button until the game starts instead of waiting for it to reset, it’s just like humans throttling the elevator button until it arrives
Is the narrator Alan Alda?
They are always present and unconditioned.
I was definitely a secure attachment kid
Getting kids to ignore the camera man is the biggest achievement here.
Nice video
Very misleading conclusion. I don't care if it has been theorized or tested by big people. The kid just helped sally, she did not really answer the question.
Patrick the Player^^
Knowledge is pure and can only be learned
Stuff that's learned can only be learned?
These kind of games if played frequently, will help increase kids ability to put attention throughly
This is also a peek into how the minds of adult Republicans work.
How tf does the two party system cause your mind to contrive this random comparison 💀 are you really so smooth brained?
This is also a peek into how the minds of adult * insert people I hate * work.
You had to go and bring politics here huh?
7:35 I suspect the boy is deceiving the psychologist ... he wants the angle sticker in the first place xD
The plot twist 😮
